Our school is always striving for the further development of the pedagogical work and a good school climate for all involved. A special requirement of this further development is thus a constant look at our school quality.
For this reason, we have decided to expand our social concept. After extensive research, we decided on the TEAMGEISTER concept, since it focuses in particular on social and emotional skills. Especially the following basic rules and focal points of the TEAMGEISTER concept were of great importance for the decision:
Voluntariness in activities ( join in or watch... )
positive view of the child
orientation to the personal needs of the children
Attention to the small progress, not to the mistakes and shortcomings
renouncement of evaluation ( e.g. in reflection phases, conversations.... )
Experiences of difference, heterogeneity and colorfulness in groups as a matter of course and enriching
Strengthening of personality and self-confidence
Coping with age-appropriate developmental tasks
Challenges that children can grow from
Strengthening and encouragement
Promoting a sense of responsibility and social commitment
Developing the ability to deal with conflict
clear, targeted impulses for social-emotional learning
"Teamgeister is a social and emotional learning program that relies on the big impact of many small steps. Most of the activities in Teamspirit aim to provide children with simple experiences with their peers that develop into life skills over time." (Teamspirit teacher handout pg. 3). Teamspirit is oriented to the lifeworld of our students through the following central themes: Community, Communication, Self-Confidence, Feelings, Family, Friends, and Choices. These are units that build on each other from grade 1 to 4.
As part of the implementation of TEAMGEISTER, we would like to promote a development and expansion of the following goals:
The first implementation of TEAMGEISTER in the classes has been taking place since October 2016. According to the decision, one hour of TEAMGEISTER takes place every two weeks. By implementing TEAMGEISTER, we hope to gain more active time in class and to promote the independence of the pupils. The content of these lessons includes role plays, energisers (= exercises to encourage and increase concentration) and the active-action approach to the topics for the holistic promotion of head, heart and hand. TEAMGEISTER is free of any judgement and evaluation and is intended to offer a protected and open space for joint discussion.
A good class climate and a trusting relationship among the pupils are important prerequisites for successful work. These basic skills for successful learning and the associated effective use of learning time must first be learned. TEAMGEISTER tries to develop and strengthen these skills through its process-oriented small steps of short sequences and the focus on the strengths of our students. The following applies: The way is the goal!
Since the school year 2019/20, the primary school on the Lieth and the Zonta Club Paderborn have been sponsoring the "Schultüte" project.
The project supports primary schools that have classified themselves as particularly worthy of support.
In Paderborn, too, there are families who have less than half of the average income to live on. Recipients of social benefits and single parents who cannot pay the necessary expenses for their children to attend school are particularly affected. For children, a low family income means that there may be disadvantages for health, for school and cultural education and for social contacts.
The Zonta Club Paderborn would like to support children from low-income families who are socially, educationally, culturally and health disadvantaged. Priority should be given to long-term assistance for particularly needy children in the form of sponsorship.
Phantasia is a young circus company that specialises in working with children. The Phantasia project circus comes to your school with its own circus tent and teaches your pupils a total of 9 different acts during the week. At the end of the project week, the pupils show their family, friends, acquaintances, classmates and anyone else who is interested what they have learned in the last performances.
This school year, we are again pleased to be able to participate in the EU School Fruit Scheme.
Our new supplier Salms Hof Naturkost in Büren ensures that our pupils receive healthy organic fruit and vegetables for breakfast three times a week. Delicious apples, pears, carrots, bananas, etc. can be eaten by our children during the breakfast break. This then gives them more strength and energy to cope with the school day even better.
The aim of the project is to promote the German language skills and multilingualism of our migrant pupils and to strengthen the parenting skills of the parents, thereby increasing the self-esteem of the immigrant parents and children.
Every child must complete the cycling training. This is to ensure that every child is familiar with traffic.
